The Yerli Film company, which Günşiray established with director Atıf Yılmaz, produced the movies "Dolandırıcılar Şahı" and "Sırat Köprüsü". Günşiray acted in many films up until 2006. In an interview, Günşiray confessed to a journalist that he had worked for the National Intelligence Organization (MİT).
He was married 8 times, he is the father of actor Mahir Günşiray.
