Army Sgt Aguila Gaona was assigned to the 82nd Sustainment Brigade, XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He died in Kabul of injuries sustained from a non-combat-related incident. Francisco joined the Army in March 2000 and was assigned as a finance specialist in the 82nd Finance Company in March 2007. His job was to ensure that members of the 82nd Sustainment Brigade received proper pay and access to benefits. He deployed to Afghanistan in July 2008. Francisco was a dedicated family man to his wife and two daughters and a soldier who lead by example, motivation and positive attitude. He is greatly missed by his fellow soldiers.
