In memory of Luna

Luna, was sixteen years old. She had been on meds for years for her pancreas and for the past couple months she kept going downhill with kidney problems, infections and not wanting to eat. Our cat's vet tried hard to get her to stabilize but it was just her time to go.

My mother-in-law gave Luna to us. One day while we were watching t.v., my mother-in-law came into our family room carrying a cat. She placed the cat on the floor and said "I brought you a cat". As if we needed another cat, we already had three cats; Angel, Jax and Alfie. So…that is how Luna became part of our family. My mother-in-law found her in the country with another cat that looked just like her except he was a male. They were about six months of age. She kept the male for herself.

Luna was a great cat. She loved being outdoors in our back yard. At the time we had a gopher problem and she was forever catching them and bringing them into the house to my daughter's bedroom door and leaving them there. If Luna couldn't get into the house, she would leave them by our back patio doors. Luna would only come into the house to eat and back outside she would go.

As Luna got older, she spent more time in the house and would even set on my lap. My daughter would brush her long fur because everything seemed to cling to her fur. She even used wipes on her fur; Luna sure would look pretty when my daughter was finished with her.

Luna did not like any other cats, she was a loner. Our other cats tried to be friendly towards her, but her hissing kept them away. We gave her lots of love, holding and petting her. We loved Luna and will always miss her.
