When I lived with my parents, Maggie came to us one rainy night. A wet, bedraggled longhaired cat. We let her stay with us and she became one of the family. She was about a year old. someone must have dumped her in the lane, as they so often did, and still do for pets they have no love or time for.
She was a tabby and white longhaired 'moggy' (in other words, no particular breed).
Maggie spent her 20+ years with us, and we loved her.
Sadly, Maggie died a year before mum and dad moved from The lane. She is buried with sooty.
