Sgt 1C Richard K Behmer 41 of Culver, died Thursday (July 6, 1961)in West Germany, where he was stationed, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in which he was involved last week.
His body will be returned to McCloskey-Hamilton-Kahle funeral home, where final rites are pending.
Born August 2, 1919 in Logansport, he was the son of Walter and Nora Johnson Behmer.
Survivors including his widow Gutrud J. who was overseas with him; his parents, Culver; two sisters Mrs R W Batts, Mt Prospect, IL, and Mrs Virgil Herbert Indianapolis; and one brother Eugene, also of Indianapolis.
Sgt Behmer was a 1939 graduate of the Culver Military Academy. He had been in the Army since 1940.
