Sherrard is the son of John Bryant Entrekin and Matilda Stanford of GA and MS. He was the husband of Mary Rice. Mary may be buried in the 'Old Rice Cemetery' referenced in old deeds.
Sherrard was one of five brothers that served in the 18th Alabama Regiment Co B, four died near Atlanta GA, Sherrard, William Bryant, James M. and David; only one brother Daniel Stanford survived the war.
