He enlisted April 3, 1862 at Harrison Co Miss by Capt Steede for period of war.

When Lewis was wounded in the war, his sweetheart 'Pollie Tootle' rode a horse from Vancleave to Georgia to care for him. [re: Johnsie Ware]

Lewis was the oldest of 13 children born to James and Polly Goff Roberts of Vancleave.
He was one of 5 brothers to serve in the war; Wiley, James Garner, Ervin, Alfred and himself.

...Hello. Lewis Roberts is buried at Rose Hill Cemetery in Macon, Bibb, Georgia. I found his name on an 1866 newspaper article that lists all the Confederate soldiers buried at Rose Hill. In Rose Hill Cemetery's database, his first name is spelled "Louis." However, in the article it is spelled "Lewis." The article mentions he served in Miller's Regiment, but did not show a death date for him...
