Musician. Born in Hereford, England, he was a bass guitarist and a founding member of the rock band, The Pretenders. The group was formed in 1978, with Farndon playing a large role in shaping band's tough image. His distinctive bass playing and backup vocals were featured on the group's first albums: "Pretenders" (1979), "Extended Play" (1981) and "Pretenders II" (1981). Due to increasingly strained relations with his band mates, he was dismissed from the band in June 1982. In 2005, he was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Pretenders.
