**Great Aunt**

My Mom's aunt "Ginny". She was a wonderful woman who always made you welcome in her home, and greeted you with a genuine smile of pleasure. She was a hard worker, a devout Christian who lived her faith daily, and a devoted wife and mother.

Her Obituary:
Laura Virginia Garland, age 65, of Barbourville, was born on July 27, 1943
at Hinkle, Kentucky. She was a daughter of the late Dan Epperson and Sudie
Messer Epperson. Mrs. Garland died Tuesday, February 24, 2009 in the Knox
County Hospital. She was a member of the Scalf Chapel Church. On November 5, 1960,
she united in marriage to Raymond Garland and to this union seven beloved
children were born.
She is survived by her loving husband, Raymond of Barbourville; her children;
Carolyn Davis and husband, Rev. Steve Davis; Lee Ward and husband, Bill; all
of Bimble; Melissa Bingham and husband, Joseph of London; Sheila Smith and
husband, Donald of Gray; Leslie Peace and husband, John of Gray; James Garland
of LaFollette, Tennessee; Tim Garland and girlfriend, Amy of Cannon; her fifteen
grandchildren; two great grandchildren; her sisters; Ella Jean Parker of
Florence, Kentucky; Bertha Warren and husband, James of Shelbyville, Kentucky;
her brothers; Dan Epperson Jr. and wife, Ruby of Morehead, Kentucky; David
Epperson of London and Henry Epperson and wife, Betty of Hinkle. Mrs. Garland
was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Brown and a brother; Granville
Epperson.

Funeral Services for Laura Virginia Garland will be conducted at the Scalf
Chapel Church at Bimble, Friday, February 27, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev.
Tommy Frazier and Rev. Ted Satterfield officiating. Burial will follow in
the Hammons Cemetery at Girdler, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The Garland Family will receive friends at the Scalf Chapel Church at Bimble,
Thursday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday after 10:00 a.m. until the funeral
hour at 2:00 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Hopper Funeral Home.

Rest in peace, Ginny. We will meet again.
