Heinrich Evers came to Lincoln Twp. in Holt Co., MO, from Germany in 1841. He came with Heinrich Hemme and helped found the German settlement named Hemme's Landing on the Missouri River in Holt Co., MO. He married Margaretha Anna Klamm on February 2, 1850, in Clay Co., MO. They were the parents of Helena A. Evers Schroeder, Mary Anna Margareth Evers Dege and Elizabeth Wilhelmina Evers Dege. He was a veteran of the Mexican War. He enlisted in Captain Wm. B. Armstrong's Company C, Santa Fe Battery, U.S. Mounted Volunteers, on August 15, 1847, and was honorably discharged from service with the U.S. Army in Independence, Missouri, on October 17, 1848.
