Josephine Mae Schell Klopp was the daughter of Samuel Klopp Schell and Bessie May Haak Schell. She was the wife of Warren Elias Klopp who preceded her in death on January 7, 1960. She was the sister of Henry Haak Schell (01/30/1903-07/30/1975) and Irene June Schell.

She was a teacher for 43 years, retiring in 1974. She began her teaching career in 1931 in the Marion Township School District. She also taught at the Conrad Weiser Area schools, Stouchsburg, and Womelsdorf schools.

She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Myerstown, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She also served as church historian and was a member of the Lydia Circle where she served as secretary-treasurer. She was a member of the Western Berks Retired School Employees, where she served as treasurer for many years; a life member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association; Berks County Teachers' Association; and Lebanon County Teachers' Association.

She was a member of AARP; served as president and treasurer of the Marion Township Playground Committee; was a former director of the Tulpehocken Settlement Historical Society. She was a member of the Mt. Lebanon Campmeeting Ladies' Auxiliary, where she served on various committees; the Marion Township Fire Co. Ladies' Auxiliary; Golden Agers of Myerstown, where she served on the program committee; Marion Senior Citizens, Stouchsburg, where she served as secretary. She was secretary of Trinity UB Church, Mt. Aetna, Gretna Glen Camping Program, and Mt. Lebanon Campmeeting Association, where she served as director.

She attended the Mt. Aetna schools and graduated from Myerstown High School in 1926. She graduated from Lebanon Valley College in 1930.

She was survived by, among others, her cousin and best friend, Miss Carrie E. Winter, of Mt. Aetna, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
