When Samuel arrived in Vietnam, he was assigned to the 3rd Platoon of Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 26th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine
Division.
Survived by his wife, Ruby E Hannah and his parents, Samuel G and Hester N Hannah all of Lincoln, Arkansas.

Posthumously awarded the Silver Star Medal.
