Bob loved taking pictures with his 35mm camera and was known for his photos of weddings and other special gatherings. Another of his passions was growing beautiful orchids. He was a genius at the propogation and growth of many different types of this gorgeous plant. He took photos of his favorites. The photo of the orchid that appears on this page is of an orchid he grew from a seedling and he also took the picture of it and gave it to me. At one time I bought a small orchid from him, but no matter what I did, and I DID follow every direction he gave me, it died within weeks. He had a gift for growing these beautiful and delicate plants...

Note: below is the verse from inside Bob's obituary card...

"In our home the most prized possession is
the flag that's never flown
It's never hung proudly on the fourth of
July to watch a marching band go by
It sits on the corner of a shelf standing
there proudly all by itself
Folded so neatly for all to see I can never
express how much that Flag means to me
You see it's only been unfolded once
then folded back up with care
after it honored the casket of the man
who brought us to life...
Good-Bye, Dad"

(Having worked with Bob for years at RTW in Rogers, AR. I came to know him as a quiet man, but once you got him going he had a great sense of humor and was always up to helping get a joke on someone, even if it should happen to back-fire on him. He'd laugh 'til he'd lose his breath and his eyes fill with tears when something tickled him. Sometimes some of the oddest things would give him a horendous case of the giggles. He could always be found in or near the 'powder cage', his territory, and he didn't mince words letting you know that it was 'his' domain and he didn't want you messin' around with his stuff. :)
He was a hard worker and loved by all the people that worked with him.)
