Singer. He was best known for his 1966 hit "What Becomes of the Broken Hearted". His singing career began with the gospel group, the Dixie Nightingales. In 1961 he became a part of the Motown Record label. While at Motown he had a string of hits, after "What Becomes of the Broken Hearted" he launched "I've Passed This Way Before" and "Gonna Give Her All the Love I Got". In 1980 he staged a comeback with his hit, "Hold on to My Love". In 2012 he released a compilation album titled, "There Will Never Be Another You", the album included his hit songs "What Becomes of The Broken Hearted", and "Hold On To My Love". He was the older brother of David Ruffin who was TheTemptations lead singer from 1964 to 1968.
