Victoria Carolina Sanchez, age 37 of Lansing, IL, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011. Beloved and cherished daughter of Rita (nee Olvera) and Eugenio "Gene" Sanchez, Sr.; dearest sister of Eugenio Jr. "Geno" (Sherry Fanelli), Raquel (Charles Strohmeyer) Gralewski, Michael Sr. (Barb), late Jessica
(Steven Hyde, Jr.), Stephanie and Joseph Sanchez. Proud Aunt "Nene" of Steven, Patrick and Jonathan Gralewski, Michael Jr. and Sabrina Sanchez, Mary Michel and Laura Sanchez, Jesse, Justin and Jacob Cope.

Dearest niece of the late Luis Sr. (Carmen) Olvera, Maria Estefana Olvera, late Joe Olvera, Merry Shea Mendez, Ruben Rodriguez and Lupe Tevenal.

Caroline was preceded in death by her grandparents, Nieves and Lupe Olvera and John Roman and Virginia Ontiveros and her great-aunt Caroline Enriquez.

Caroline was born in Chicago on Friday, December 28, 1973. She enjoyed helping her nieces and nephews with their homework, playing video games with them and attending their games. She also enjoyed listening to Country-Western music, yarn work, beadwork, sewing and various arts and crafts.

Funeral services for Caroline will be held on Saturday, July 2 at 9:30 AM at the
Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home,
3227 Ridge Rd.,
Lansing, Illinois
proceeding to
St. Ann Catholic Church,
3010 Ridge Rd.,
Lansing, Illinois for a
10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial.
Interment will follow at
Holy Cross Cemetery in
Calumet City.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday, July 1 from 1 - 8 PM at the funeral home.

Special thanks to Munster Community Hospital Intensive Care Unit, Respiratory staff, Dr. Satish Patel and all the other caring staff members who took excellent care of Caroline. Special thanks to Dr. Richard Larson, Dr. Steven White and the Intensive Care Unit at the University of Chicago Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Eileen Smith and the rest of the caring staff at City of Hope Hospital in Duarte, CA and the Carmelite Sisters of Santa Teresita Hospital in Duarte, CA.
