Married John Charles Williams (son of John Williams and Grace Ladner) on 21 November 1899 in Brisbane.
Children: Grace (1900-1969); Mabel (1901-1902); John (1903-1959); Gladys (1905-1966); Eric (1909-1966); Ronald (1912-1912); Muriel (1913-1966); Vera (1915-1919); Phyllis (1918-1935); Dorothy (1924 -)
Grandma Williams died when my father was 18 1/2 years old, long before he met my mother and married. She was reputed to be a very beautiful woman, the darling of Spring Hill, Brisbane where she lived all life, with a heart of gold, and who would try to the best of her ability to help others.
Unfortunately, she married my grand-father, a cruel and sadistic man, who never appreciated what a wonderful woman he had married.
Died in Brisbane Hospital on 9 December 1927 from the effects of Chronic Pulmonary T.B.; Cachexia; and Cardiac Failure.
She had earlier undergone two separate mastectomy operations for breast cancer.
I wish I had had the privilege and opportunity to meet her.

MOTHERHOOD
The most important person on earth is a mother. She cannot claim the honour of having built Notre Dame Cathedral. She need not. She has built something more magnificent than any cathedral - a dwelling for the immortal soul, the tiny perfection of her baby's body.
The angels have not been blessed with such a grace. they cannot share in God's creative miracles to bring new saints to Heaven. Mothers are closer to God, the Creator, than any other creature. God joins forces with mothers in performing this act of creation. What in God's good world is more glorious than this: to be a mother.
