Mrs. Scrimshire was born December 25, 1946 in Artesia, New Mexico; the daughter of Todd Downs and Irene Stone Downs She was a lifelong resident of Artesia.
She owned and operated Old West Burgers and was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her father.
