Professional football player. After attending Ridgefield Park High School in New Jersey, he went to Rutgers. He had a short career (2 games) with the pro football Brooklyn Dodgers in 1930, the team's first year in the NFL. After working with the American Express Company, the U.S. Treasury Department, the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration and almost four years in the Army, he joined the U.S. State Department in 1946, returning to Vernon, Conn., in 1965 after 2 years in Iran, four years in Turkey, and three years in the Netherlands. He served as Executive Director of the Rockville Area Chamber of Commerce from 1968-1978 where he helped originate the Indian Valley Y.M.C.A. and Rockville Big Brothers and served a number of years on both boards.
