Capt. George-Bryan Houghton (GB)of Candler, North Carolina and his wife were living in the Layton area for more than a year while he was stationed at Hill Air Force Base. He was expecting to be deployed to Afghanistan in the next couple of weeks. He was killed during a nighttime exercise over the Utah Test and Training Range in the massive, rugged and remote west desert when his F-16 jet crashed. GB is the husband of Josie Houghton, a son of George and Darlene Houghton and the brother of Mark-Daniel and Patrick. He was 28.
