Sgt. Benjamin W. Sherman, 21, of Plymouth, Mass.; was assigned to 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.; died Nov. 4 in Bala Murghab, Afghanistan, while participating in a resupply mission. Ben was a man of faith who lived by a code of honor. He was strong willed and unstoppable. He rushed toward life and its' dangers. He did everything with abandon. Ben enjoyed playing sports, riding his bicycle and playing drums. Ben was the husband of Patricia "Trish", who was expecting their first child, and the son of William T. Sherman of Fairhaven and Denise Richmond Sherman of Plymouth. He leaves his sister, Meredith Sherman-Sturge and her husband Ryan, his half-sister, Jessica Santos and her husband David, his grandmothers, Barbara Richmond and Adele Sherman.
