I think stone is not correct I think death occurred in 1884

Muder victim
Anderson Family
Murdered and mutilated along with His Wife and children
A posse chased wampler to Arkansas where a gun battle ensued and he finally shot him self in the head with a pistol and killed Him self . Town folk would not stand for His body to be buried in the cemetery so he was taken to the old fair grounds south of town and placed in a shallow grave , folk lore has it He was dug up in dark of night and reburied the middle of the road near the Hern junk Yard where horses and wagons would trample on him .

This stone is the only stone on Anderson lot marks the Father's grave the rest are unmarked.

The news paper accounts of this brutal mass murder are very blurry , I am going to obtain them again and use our new digital micro film reader . There is a Rachel A. Wampler
Birth 1849 in , Pulaski, Kentucky, Husband John Anderson married in Crawford county Ks. on ancestry I do believe this is them ,but it has this John Anderson death in 1884 this is most likely Him and they just have it wrong.

Mrs. Anderson was a niece of Her killer.

Here is an article dated June of 1884 about the murders provide by astromom. Warning its very graphic and may be disturbing to some.
