Jesus was the son of Guadalupe Alegria and Dolores Huerta Alegria. He was employed 27 years by the city of Houston as a custodian. Jesus and Petra were married on August 25 th of 1940 . Together they had 10 children . They are preceded in death by their parents, several siblings, 3 children, Juan, Juanita and Pedro, and a grandson, Sergio Rodriguez, Jr. They leave behind their 7 children, sons, Guadalupe, Ramon and Jose de Jesus, daughters, Juanita, Trinidad, Arminda and Dolores. They also leave behind 19 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Jesus and Petra shared 67 wonderful years together. Jesus worked for the City of Houston for 27 years and retired at the age of 85. Jesus took pride in his work. Petra was a devoted mother, wife and grandmother who raised her children and grandchildren with their beloved dog Cuyo by their side. They grew tired and became ill simultaneously. Jesus passed first and Petra passed less than an hour later. Their love is unlike any other. After 67 years as husband and wife God decided to unite them again at the gates of heaven where they no longer feel pain but feel their love and the love they have left behind.
