Son of Charles and Lavina Pessaro, husband of Henrietta. Together Charles and Henrietta had two sons, Charles Jr. and Wayne. Five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Charles was a member of the United States Coast Guard during World War II. For some time he was a boxer both in the Coast Guard and semi-professionally in Baltimore. He worked for several decades as a longshoreman at the Port of Baltimore. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose. Charles was known for his sharp wit and quirky sense of humor and for an intensely photographic memory. Charles also instilled in his children and grandchildren a love of history,and of cemeteries both of which he was very fond of.
