Betty J. Flieg of Ste. Genevieve died Sunday, July 24, 2005, at Ste. Genevieve Care Center. She was 73 years old.

Funeral services are Tuesday, July 26, at 1 p.m. at the Church of Ste. Genevieve with Reverend James Hanson officiating.

The burial is in Valle Spring Cemetery. Basler Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

She was born March 14, 1932, in Ste. Genevieve, a daughter of Leonard and Chlora "Sally" (Brown) Schloss. Her mother resides in Ste. Genevieve.

She was married to Martin J. Flieg on June 24, 1950. He resides in Ste. Genevieve.

Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by two sons, Paul Flieg and his wife, Barbara, of Ste. Genevieve and Gregory Flieg and his wife, Susan, of Prairieville, Louisiana; three daughters, Suzanne (Mrs. John) Winters, Mary Ellen (Mrs. Mark) DeGenova, and Amy (Mrs. Jeff) Basler, all of Ste. Genevieve; 12 grandchildren– Lindsay and Rachel Flieg, Gabe, Nick, and Luke Winters, Sara (Mrs. John) Sellers, Daniel and Gina DeGenova and Jacob, Kaitlyn, Jeremy, and Joseph Flieg.

She was preceded in death by her father.

The family requests memorials to the American Diabetes Association, Missouri Federation of the Blind, or HospiceCare, Inc.
