Linda E. Carroll Grimes, 84, of Millersville, PA, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at her home.
Born August 25, 1926 in Sanford, NC, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Kate Clegg Carroll.
Linda graduated from the James B. Dudley High School in Greensboro, NC.
Ms. Grimes worked as a tube operator at RCA in Lancaster for over 40 years retiring in the 1980's. After her retirement, she volunteered as a hospice worker for many years in the Lancaster area.
She was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Church of God in Christ where she participated in the children's bible school and Sunday school. When her children were young, she served as a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader at Crispus Attucks Community Center in Lancaster. She also spoke at the YWCA for their Annual Race Against Racism & Bigotry.
In her spare time she enjoyed reading especially readers digest.
Surviving to cherish her memory, four daughters, Linda C. Grimes of Millersville, PA, Brenda J. Woods of York, PA, LaTanya Hatfield (Adrian) of Lancaster, and Pamela Grimes of Lancaster; one son, Myron Grimes (Renee) of Charlotte, NC; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1great great grandson.
She is preceded in death by one son, Harrison B. Grimes.
