SMITH, LINDA K. (RUTHERFORD), 54 - of Cape May Point, passed away Sunday morning at home among family and friends after an eight year battle with breast cancer. Mrs. Smith was born in Media, Pa., and has been a lifelong resident of Cape May Point. She retired in 2002 from the Cape May Health Department - Nursing Division, where she worked for 25 years. She was also a certified beautician.
She was a 1966 graduate of Lower Cape May Regional High School.
Mrs. Smith was pre-deceased by her father Frank "Sonny" Rutherford.
She is survived by:- her husband - Jim Smith, her daughter, Casey Smith and son Michael Smith, of Cape May Point, her mother - Roberta Rutherford (and companion Rudy Schmidt) of Cape May Point, her sister, Edna McCann (and husband Robert), of North Cape May, sister-in-law - Ann Alexsinus, of Jensen Beach, Fla., and many thoughtful nieces, nephews, and relatives.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 PM in the Sudak-Danaher Funeral Home, 815 Washington St., Cape May. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday from 12 noon to 2 PM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Cold Spring Cemetery, Lower Township.
