He was the husband of the late Rita T. (nee Ward) Cannon who passed away in 1996, and the father of the late George E. Cannon, Jr., who passed away in 2000. he was born on August 1, 1922, in Philadelphia, PA. To the late Agnes (nee Curry) Cannon and the late William Cannon. Mr. Cannon was a United States Army veteran of World War II and had been employed for over 35 years with the Pennsylvania Railroad company prior to his retirement a few years ago. Survivors: children; Charles Cannon (Leonore) of West Chester, James Cannon (Margie) of Havertown, and Marita Cannon of Broomall.
In addition to his children he is also survived by his grandchildren; Charles, Jason, Ryan, Corey, Todd, Chris, and Luke and his great-grandchildren; Selena and Grayson. Services: relatives and friends are invited to attend George's life celebration on Friday, February 8, 2013, from 8:30-9:30 am, at Spencer T. Videon Funeral Home, Garrett Road at Shadeland Avenue, Drexel Hill, Pa., 19026, and to participate in his Mass of Christian Burial on Friday morning, 10:30 am, Saint Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall, Pa., 19008.
