Obituary

Cecil Pence, age 86, of Chattanooga, TN, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, June 10, 2009. He was the son of the late Oscar and Lula Pence. He was a Veteran of World War II having served in the U. S. Army. He was a graduate of the University of Dayton where he received a Bacehelor of Arts in Education. He taught middle school math in the Beaver Creek Ohio School System. Mr. Pence was a lifelong member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Dayton, OH.


Mr. Pence is survived by his wife of 60 years, Catherine Pence of Chattanooga, TN; three daughters, Pam (Jerry) Duckett of Wooster, OH, Sue (Tom) Goubeaux of Fayetteville, GA and Lisa (Lance) Marshall of Chattanooga, TN; five grandchildren, Laura, Evie, Angie, Paige and Grant; sister, Nora Herbert of Cincinnati, OH.


Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 15, 2009 at 1 P.M. at the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Walliser and Rev. Chuck Patrick officiating.


Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.


The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:30 A.M. until 1 P.M. at the funeral home.
