She is survived by her twin sister, Rebecca Monteill, daughters, Joyce Vest, Delores Adams, Janet Flexman (Jerry), Rosemary Hayre (Clay), Rhonda Petry, and Frederica Redelberger (Joe) and step-daughter Sheryl Petry. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tammy Terrell, Bill Wagner, Joy Kitzmiller, Rebecca Wagner, John Wagner, Jon David Vest, Jacob Vest, Miranda Redelberger, Richard Redelberger and Jordan Flexman; and 10 great grandchildren, 1 great- great grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Long and infant son George D. Long, husband Fred Petry, sons-in-law, Larry Adams and Don Vest, and her grandson, HD Vest.
Rose was a charter member of the Mountain View Baptist Church in New River, TN and charter member of County Line Baptist Church in Beavercreek, OH, and a long time member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Dayton, OH. Rose put her faith in Christ as a young girl based on the familiar verse John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." Her faith in Christ and in His presence with us in this life and thereafter was her anchor in life's many circumstances. She worked 15+ years at Rike's in Merchandise Processing, but her most cherished role was mother and grandmother. Rosella and her husband, Fred, shared a love of travel and did so extensively.
Visitation at MORRIS SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1771 E. Dorothy Lane, Kettering. Interment to follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens. In memory of Rosella, donations may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1501 E. Third St., Dayton, OH 45403 or Hospice of Dayton.
