Scott City - Mrs. Mason Emerson, 77 years old, of Scott City, died Wednesday in St. Francis Medical Center at Cape Girardeau.
The former Norah Clessen Bledsoe was born Dec. 25, 1905, in New Madrid County, the daughter of Jesse and Norah Winston Bledsoe. On June 7, 1934, she married Mr. Emerson, who survives.
Mrs. Emerson was a former teacher in the St. Mary's and Notre Dame school systems in Cape Girardeau, and at St. Joseph's School in Scott City, retiring over ten years ago.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish here and the St. Joseph Women's Sodality.
The Emersons moved to Scott City from Cape Girardeau in 1943.
Surviving is her husband; a son, Joe Emerson; a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth (Ben) Rickard; a sister, Mrs. Joe Lankheit; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be held Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
