Scott City - Emory Mason Emerson, 80 years old, of Scott City died Monday at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 20, 1907, at Morley, the son of James and Issie Mason Emerson.
On June 7, 1934, he married Norah Bledsoe. She died April 20, 1983.
He was a retired conductor for the Cotton Belt Railroad. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Parish and the United Trainmen's Union.
Surviving is a son, Joe Emerson; a daughter, Mrs. Jack "Ben" Rickard; a half sister, Justine Searcy; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A brother and a half brother also preceded him in death.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church here. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
