Mr. Scherer was born February 4, 1891 at Ste. Genevieve, a son of the late Anthony and Mary Thomure Scherer.
He is survived by the following brothers and sister, John, William, Oliver, Walter and Arthur Scherer and Louise (Mrs. Gerald Bleckler), all of Ste. Genevieve. Richard, Emmanuel, Ernest and Elvena are deceased.
The remains were taken to the Jerry Stanton Mortuary and requiem services were held Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. at the Ste. Genevieve Catholic Church, with burial in Calvary Cemetery at Valle Spring.
Mr. Scherer was a World War I veteran and was a member of American Legion Post 150 of Ste. Genevieve. He was a retired Mississippi Lime employee retiring in December, 1955.
His family has the sympathy of their many Ste. Genevieve county friends in the loss of a beloved brother and uncle.
