2nd married William O Bachman
Pauline M. "Polly" Owens Bachman, 82, formerly of Slatington and Schnecksville, died Monday in the Phoebe Home, Allentown. She was the wife of William O. Bachman for 34 years and the late Harry Owens.
She was an elementary teacher in the former Slatington School District, now Northern Lehigh School District, for 37 years before retiring in 1973.
A 1935 graduate of what is now West Chester University, with a bachelor's in English and music, she received an elementary education degree from what is now Kutztown University in 1939.
Born in Newharts, she was a daughter of the late Ulysses and Beulah (Reichard) Hollenbach.
She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Slatington.
She was chairwoman of the spring banquet and house committee of the Slatington Women's Club.
Survivors: Husband; stepson, Robert B. Bachman of Walnutport; stepdaughter, Harriet, wife of Russell Wickizer of Virginia Beach, Va.; two step-grandchildren and a step-great-granddaughter.
Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Harding-Fox Funeral Home, 25-27 N. 2nd St., Slatington. Call 10-11 a.m. Thursday.
