ETHEL AGNES HART first child of Benjamin Franklin Hart and Eva R. Freil was born August 10, 1894 on the family ranch east of Sioux City, IA. She started taking organ lessons when about seven years old. Her family moved to Oregon in late 1905 and by 1908 had moved to new home in Montavilla, Oregon where she continued taking piano lessons. After moving to Portland, she put all her time into music studies and preparations for a Music Conservatory program. By 1912 she had several students and continued her music studies until her marriage to Roy Vincent Lommen in Vancouver, WA Dec 31, 1912. They later divorced and Ethel remarried 1.) Skiffington Arthur "Skiff" Williams, 14 Feb 1942 and 2.) Robert Marshall Eaton, 9 Apr 1949.

Ethyl Agnes Hart Eaton was an avid family genealogist who wrote two volumes of Hart family history. Among her musical accomplishments, Ethyl published a piano piece in 1935 entitled "My Idea of Heaven".

Ethyl died 18 Jul 1979 in Portland, Multnomah, OR.

Funeral for Ethel Agnes Eaton, who died Wednesday in a Portland retirement home, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Killingsworth Little Chapel of the Chimes. She was 84. Mrs. Eaton, who lived at 5412 N.E. 24th Ave., was born in Sioux City, Iowa. She came to Portland more than 60 years ago and was a homemaker. She is survived by eight grandchildren, 27 great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Internment will be in Riverview Abbey.
