As the train rounded the curve a long log hit the bank causing the chains to break throwing him to the ground and the logs rolling over him. The plant was shut down and it seems the whole Countryside attended his funeral where many had to stand outside during the Services. He is buried at the Sandy, Ore. Cemetery. He had learned he was to be a father a few days before."
