He and his wife and son, James moved from Ellis County to Fisher County, Texas to escape the malaria that took the lives of his first two sons, Alec and Walter.
He died on Monday, August 17, 1936, at 9:30p.m. in Rotan, Fisher County, Texas. He was 75 years old.
