Miss Ahlene Downing
Funeral services were held Friday at the Fox Funeral Home, Heuvelton, for Miss Ahlene Downing, 92, who died at teh A. Barton Hepburn hospital, Ogdensburg, Aug 30.
Rev. Carl Jacobs, pastor of the DePeyster Methodist church officiated. Burial was in the family plot in a Macomb cemetery.
Miss Downing was born June 29, 1874 in Macomb. Her parents were Lamartin and Cynthia Washburn Downing.
Miss Downing had resided with her sister, Mrs. Myrtle Tann, of this village and for many years had been afflicted with blindness which she bore with great fortitude.
Recently she had suffered a bad fall in her home.
Surviving are two sister; Mrs. Myrtle Tann, DePeyster, and Mrs. John (Wilma) Huntley, Lima Oh
