Effie Tyler worked for my grandmother, Cora Tedford, for many years in Darling, Ms. Consequently, she helped raise not only my mother, Claudie Tedford Lowe; but, also, me and my 4 siblings: Bill, Carol, David and Joel. We loved her very, very much.
I currently don't know the dates of her birth or death. I don't know much of her history.
She was robbed and murdered by a local man which was so very sad.
She is buried out behind an old church somewhere out from Batesville, Ms. Her grave is unmarked. I went with my parents there more than once. Colored glass marked the grave.
I have many, many memories of Effie. She used to wash my hair (in an old tub outdoors) and roll it up and tie it with rags to make it curly.
I loved Effie and think of her and those wonderful days in Darling, Ms often.
