Yusuf was a kind and loving little boy. He loved to help his mama around the house, and also enjoyed helping others as well. He was born the beloved son of Camille and John I. Bell, in Atlanta, Georgia, where he lived with his family in the McDaniel Glenn Housing Authority. A gifted child, he attended 5th grade at Dunbar Elementary School where he was well-liked and had lots of friends. He particularly liked going to the Warren Memorial Boys Club where he enjoyed the sports and activities.

One day, Yusuf disappeared on his way home from the grocery store where he'd gone on an errand for an elderly neighbor. His disappearance caused quite a media circus due to the Atlanta Child Murders occurring at that time, and a massive search was begun. Sadly, he was found deceased about a week later on November 8th in the then vacant E.P. Elementary School, which has since been razed. He is survived by his parents; his sisters, Tonia and Marie; and a brother, Jonathan. Yusuf was officially declared one of the victims in the Atlanta Child Murders case. A little boy with so much to give... lost to us all.
