Frank was our neighbor, and the friendliest man I have ever met, or ever will meet. He was so delightful! In the morning we'd see him walk past the house walking his little dog, Princess. A few hours later he'd ride by on a bicycle. Then, later in the day, he'd zip by on a motor scooter. Frank was so active, and a vibrant member of the human race. He was a friend to all, and I never saw him without a smile on his face. He is someone I will never, ever forget.
Frank was a son of the late Julius and Domacilie Adamavich. Frank served his country in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946.
On December 22, 1945, he was united in marriage to Ruth M. Friedrichs at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Hamond, Louisiana.
Frank worked for the Kohler Co. for 16 years in security and transportation, retiring in 1990. He was previously employed by the Kingsbury Brewery.
He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Sheboygan. He was an usher at Holy Name for 25 years and was also a member of the Thursday morning church cleaning crew. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 149 in Sheboygan Falls, the Sheboygan Old Timers Baseball Association, the Kohler Runners Club, the Wisconsin State and Sheboygan Tennis Circles, and was a former member of the St. Vincent De Paul Society.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth, six children, Greg (special friend, Barb) Adamavich of Las Vegas, Nevada, Kathleen "Kate" (Wendell) Munns-Wojner of Madison, Richard (Susan) Adamavich of Manitowoc, Daniel Adamavich of Costa Rica, Carol "CJ" (Scott) Duehring of Sheboygan, and Maryellen (Barry)Adamavich/Vredenbregt of Madison, 11 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his faithful walking companion, Princess.
Frank was an avid sports fan and competitive participant with a tennis match actually scheduled on the morning he died. He could be seen getting his daily exercise by riding his bicycle all over town, regardless of the weather, and also walking his devoted dog, Princess.
He won dozens of tennis tournaments, even though he only started playing in his 30s after a service-related shoulder injury limited his dream of a baseball pitching career. He enthusiastically spent many hours teaching any interested child or grandchild tennis and baseball, and then attended as many of their athletic events as possible.
Frank was a devout Catholic in daily worship and weekly service to the church. He was an extraordinarily friendly man who liked everyone he knew and was always warmly interesting in meeting new people.
Frank will never be forgotten, and will live on in the hearts of many.
