Actor. Best known for his role as the kindly neighbor (whose lower face was always hidden from sight to the television audience), Wilson W. Wilson Jr., on the hit television sitcom, "Home Improvement" (1991โ€“1999). Hindman studied acting at the University of Arizona and eventually broke into motion pictures, portraying heavies in the 1970s thrillers, "The Taking of Pelham One Two Three" and "The Parallax View." Hindman's most famous and enduring pre-Home Improvement role was that of ex-cop and best-friend-to-everybody, Bob Reid, in the popular ABC soap opera, "Ryan's Hope," from 1975 to 1989. Hindman's wife, Molly McGreevey, was also on the soap from 1977 to 1981. A lifelong smoker, Hindman became ill in early 2003 and ultimately died of lung cancer on December 29, 2003, in Stamford, Connecticut.
