Cecil D. Stringer, 75 years of age, of Goshen, Ohio, departed this life on July 5th, 2003.
Cecil was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on June 29th, 1928, son of the late Frank Pierce and Edrie Butler Stringer. Cecil moved to Goshen, Ohio in 1955. He was a Charter member, Deacon, and Minister of Education at Hill Station Baptist Church. He retired from Ford Motor Company in 1982.
Cecil was the beloved husband of Myrtle A. Godby Stringer, loving father of Gary (and Janice), Kenneth (and Margie), Danny (and Holly), Darrell (and Karen) Stringer, Brenda (and Lewis) Hale, and the late Shirley (and Gary) Gregory.
He was the dear son of the late Frank Pierce Stringer and Edrie Stringer; the affectionate grandfather of: Valerie (and Oliver) Hawkins, Mary Beth (and Ron) Corbin, Amy (and Larry) Adams, Brandy (and Phil) Hopper, Travis (and Robin) Smalley, Todd Hale, Crystal, Thad, Zachary and Stephanie Stringer; the great-grandfather of: Kaitlyn, Kyle, and Kelsey Hawkins, Paige, Luke, and Hannah Corbin, Anita and J.R. Smalley, and Sarah Adams; the dear brother of: Zearn Stringer, Vern Bryce Stringer, Virl D. Stringer, Howard Stringer, Hawk Stringer, Jimmy Bruce Stringer, Gerald Stringer, Darlene Bradley, Patsy Fogle, and the late Quantrell Stringer, and the late PFC Roy Lee Stringer.
Visitations were held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7th, 2003 at the Hill Station Baptist Church with the Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Homes and Cremation Center in charge of the arrangements.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8th, 2003 at the Hill Station Baptist Church.
Burial followed in the Graceland Memorial Gardens.
