Roy Wayne Graham was born on June 7, 1948 to Leroy and Juanita Marie Sevall Graham in Yuba City, Sutter County, California. He was called Wayne his entire life by family and friends. He grew up in Yuba City, Lodi, and Sacramento, California. He attended Sierra Enterprise Elementary School and Elk Grove High School. On April 10, 1968 he was drafted into the U.S. Army. On October 4, 1968 he was married to Paula Ann Moss, In Carson City, Ormsby County, Nevada (now the District of Carson). On February 3, 1969 a daughter was born, Pamela Gay Graham. He was fortunate enough to spend the first month of her life with his daughter. On March 3, 1969 he departed for Vietnam for a year long tour of duty. On May 20, 1969 he was killed in action . He was killed by a morter round when his position came under attack by the North Vietnamese. He was in Company C, 1st Bn, 52nd Inf, 198th LIB, Americal Division. Wayne liked the Army and he was very good at what he did. He carried a M79 grenade laucher. After, he killed his first enemy soldier, he was very sad. The idea verses the reality thing! Wayne received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Wayne is buried in Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi, San Joaquin County, California. His father Leroy Graham is buried next to him. His Grandfather, Henry Graham and Grandmother, Eliza Burgett Graham and other relatives are buried there with him.
