He was the cashier of City National Bank in Wichita Falls and was killed by outlaws during an attempted bank robbery. The two outlaws, Bill Crawford and Elmer "The Mysterious Kid" Lewis, were caught by Texas Rangers, dragged from jail by a mob and lynched.

About two o'clock this afternoon two heavily armed men entered the City National Bank at Wichita Falls, Texas and robbed it. In the fight which ensued Cashier Dorsey was killed and --- Langford the bookkeeper seriously wounded. The amount of booty obtained was small.
