Frank Roy Koper, Jr., 60, of Ruby, died Saturday, July 4, 2009 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born September 8, 1948 in Ruby to the late Lillian and Frank Koper, Sr.

Frank married Marie Powers on February 24, 1968 in St. Clair.

Frank was a tool maker for Sombur Tool for over 30 years, retiring in 2008.

He attended St. Stephen Catholic Church.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, visiting casinos and following the stock market.

He is survived by his wife, Marie; a son, Mickey (Sally) Koper of Lake Orion; two daughters, Wendy Kinney of Port Huron and Angie Koper of Algonac, five grandchildren, Emilee, Olivia, Wesley, Alex and Colleen; a sister, Diane Jean of Warren; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful canine companion, Sydney.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Koper.

Visitation will be 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.

Frank will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2009 in St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Reverend Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Blue Water Hospice.
