David was the youngest of three sons born to Joseph Benjamin and Sallie (Robbins) Rainey. He married Roberta (Miller) and they had one son: David Nowlin.

'David Rainey, 94, 2350 Simpson, died Thursday, Oct. 18, at St. Joseph's Hospital. Graveside at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20 with Rev. Gaither Day. Gene Roden's Sons, Directors of Funerals had charge.
Born in Clarksville, son of Benjamin & Sallie Robbins Rainey. Served in the Army Air Corps during WW I. Married Roberta Miller on June 8 1933, in Lamar County. He owned & operated David E. Rainey Insurance in Paris for over 50 years. Active in Boy Scouts & Girls Scouts for more than 35 years & was lifetime member of the Paris Founders Lions Club where he recently received a 65-year pin. Was a Master Mason in Paris Masonic Lodge #27 AF and AM for 60 years. Member of the First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife; a son, David N. Rainey of Dallas, 2 grandsons, Christopher David Rainey & Matthew Clayton Rainey, both of Argyle.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the children's Defense Fund.
