Altha was the daughter of Thomas Floyd and Virginia Pearl (Tarpley) Miller. She married David Erasmus Rainey in 1933 and they had one son: David Nowlin.

Roberta N. Rainey, 86, of Paris died Thursday, Oct. 12, 1995, at Cherry Street Manor. Gene Roden's Sons, Directors of Funerals, will conduct graveside services at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. Jim Keith will officiate.
Mrs. Rainey was born March 18, 1909, in Delta County, a daughter of Thomas and Virginia Tarpley Miller. She married David E. Rainey June 8, 1933. He died Oct. 18, 1990. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was retired as secretary for Rainey Insurance Co.
Surviving are a son, David N. Rainey of Plano; and two grandchildren, Christopher David Rainey and Matthew Clayton Rainey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favorite charity.
