James Akin, 80, died suddenly Mon, 18 Jul [1966] at his home at Gabe. He was a member of the Brush Creek Baptist Church. The son of the late Thomas Akin and Mary Marcum Akin, he was married to Mrs. Ida Milby in 1951. Surviving besides his wife are 2 stepchildren, Mrs. Grady Scott, Gabe and Garnett Milby, Louisville, 1 sister, Mrs. Fannie Calhoon, Rock Castle Ky., and 6 step-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Oak Forrest Cumberland Presbyterian Church with burial in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Rev. J.C. Rattliff and Rev. A.J. Terry officiated. Pallbearers were Earl Durrett, Alfonzo Durrett, C.D. Durrett, Justice Milby, Coy Milby and Ray Milby.
