Ratty old chair
by Dan Johnson

Its just a ratty old chair
brown, and dated,
worn and faded.
But it was a pedestal for a woman, a mother, a friend
and through her eyes shown the light of God.
A love so strong it bonded a family, and carried it through hell with hope.

It was a ratty old chair,
but it was the only one she had with out wheels
A secure, strong, soft harbor, for a woman who knew rough seas
Yet she always trusted God to show her to safety.

One day in her chair, God called her home.
She traveled an adventure she long dreamed of.
She sings in God's heaven, and dances once more.

Its just a ratty old chair,
but I never noticed,
until she was no longer there.
