WASHINGTON, Jan. 10.— General Otis informed the War Department that First Lieutenant Daniel T. Bowman of the Thirty-seventh Infantry, while temporarily insane, committed suicide yesterday morning by shooting.
Lieutenant Bowman was a native of St. Francisville, La., and served as a private in the First Montana Volunteer Infantry in the Philippines from July, 1899, until July, 1899, when he was appointed first lieutenant of the Thirty-seventh Volunteer Infantry, which regiment was organized in the Philippines.
